The application that detects eye diseases

According to ScienceDaily, a group of researchers has developed a software with which various diseases can be detected, just by scanning the eyes. If a person suffers from diabetic macular degeneration (the disease that leads to partial blindness through the gradual blurring of vision), they can only be diagnosed through a program installed on a smartphone.

Those from the Medical and Surgical Center for Retina, together with the biomedical engineers from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, have offered the possibility for users to use the camera of an SI smartphone to scan the eyes, so that it can detect various anomalies in the thickness retain.

This software will certainly reduce the costs of the general medical system and just with an application on the smartphone and by scanning the eyes with the help of the camera, the results will be obtained immediately.

The application is currently not included in the medical system, but it will be in the near future.
