The iPhone's market share continues to fall along with sales

The market share of iOS reaches one of the lowest values in recent years.

Following a Q1 2016 with decreases in almost all important segments, the Apple company sees itself in a position to defend what it has so that things do not continue on the downward trend announced since January of this year.

Today Gartner provided the state of global smartphone market shares, and iOS has currently reached a market share of 14.6%, 3.3% lower than the one recorded in Q1 2015, sales falling by 9 million units.

In contrast, Android's market share increased to 84.1%, 5.3% higher than in Q1 2015, sales of terminals running this operating system increasing by almost 30 million units in just one year of global market monitoring.

Windows Phone and Blackberry are in the same situation as Apple, the sales of these types of terminals dropping dramatically, the worst situation being for Canadians, selling only 660.000 units in the first three months of 2016.

In total, smartphone sales increased by 13 million units in Q1 2016 compared to Q1 2015, but Android is the main engine of growth, the rest of the operating systems registering significant decreases in sales and implicitly in market shares.

I was telling you today that iPhone sales continue to decrease in Q2 2016, and in this situation, we can expect that at the end of this fiscal quarter, the global market share of iOS will approach the value of 10%, the lowest in recent years.
