IERI (Yesterday) Orange launched the 4G call function for the iPhone, the mobile phone operator finally giving us the opportunity to do so phone calls through its 4G network, without rolling back to 3G when initiating a call.
Yesterday I explained to you how to activate 4G calls on the iPhone in the Orange network, and many of you also wondered which iPhones are compatible with 4G calls to Orange, and the mobile operator has updated its page dedicated to this service with everything what you need to know.
Function 4G call, or VoLTE, is implemented by the Apple company in iPhone terminals, mobile phone operators only having to provide support through their network, and as I told you yesterday in a comment, only terminals from 2014 onwards have this support.
Compatible iPhones with 4G calling
According to Orange Romania, the following iPhones are compatible with the 4G call function:
- iPhone 6;
- iPhone 6 Plus;
- iPhone 6S;
- iPhone 6S Plus;
- iPhone SE.
As you can see, 5 iPhone terminals are compatible with the 4G call function of the Orange Romania mobile phone operator, and from them you will be able to benefit from this system after you activate it, which is extremely simple.
The Apple company has also included Orange Romania in the list of operators that offer support for the VoLTE function, and oranges are the first in our country to offer such functionality for our iPhones, but Vodafone will not be far behind.
You just need to have an active voice subscription or PrePay option with access to 4G service and a compatible phone. The service will be activated automatically if you are in the coverage area and you will receive a confirmation SMS. After you close and reopen the phone, you will be able to make voice calls over the 4G network.
The launch of the 4G call function for the iPhone should radically improve the battery autonomy of our terminals because they will no longer have to consume energy by changing GSM bands to allow us to talk on the phone.
Having said that, it remains to be seen how long it will take until Vodafone or Telekom will offer functions for 4G calling directly from iPhone terminals, at the moment Vodafone having the best chances to allow this.
