The Facebook application will consume less internet traffic

The Facebook application will consume less internet traffic thanks to a new function called Use Less Data that is being tested now.

Company Facebook is currently testing a new function for the application dedicated to smartphones and tablets, this one has the name Use Less Data, and as its name suggests, it is intended to consume less internet traffic while using the Facebook application.

At the moment, a beta version of the Android application has this feature available, the company Facebook having a similar one integrated into the Instagram app for a while, so if you use it there, then you'll probably know how to use it on iOS.

For now it seems like the new function Use Less Data it does nothing but additionally reduce the size of the pictures displayed in the application Facebook to reduce their size at the time of download, this of course affecting the quality of the pictures.

It's hard to say how much internet traffic a function like this can save, but during a month's use, the Use Less Data function can save from a few MB to several hundred MB or even 1 GB of internet traffic, depending on how often you use Facebook.

For now, it is not known when the new Use Less Data function for the Facebook application will be officially launched, but after availability you should be able to see it in the upper part of the menu where your pages, active games, etc. are displayed.
