The president of Google invested 100 million dollars in flying cars

Larry Page is the co-founder of Google and the president of Alphabet, the company that owns Google, and what many people didn't know until today is that he invested over 100 million dollars to develop flying cars.

Zee.aero is the company that Larry Page founded and in which he invested 100 million dollars of his own money, it having its headquarters in Mountain View, next to that of Google, no less than 150 people working at the time of towards the development of flying machines.

Separately from that company, Larry Page founded a new one called Kitty Hawk, this one working independently of Zee.aero to develop flying cars, but for now it is not known what exorbitant sum the Alphabet president would have invested in the second startup.

Those from Zee.aero made two prototypes of flying cars that they hid in a hangar near Mountain View, the cars running on electricity and already making several test flights near a private airport in California.

In the image below you can see a patent registered in 2011 by Zee.aero for a flying car, and basically we are talking about a plane with a rather unusual design, but very far from the one we can assimilate to a car.

Three years ago, Silicon Valley developed a fleeting infatuation with a startup called Zee.Aero. The company had set up shop right next to Google's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., which was curious, because Google tightly controls most of the land in the area. Then a reporter spotted patent filings showing Zee.Aero was working on a small, all-electric plane that could take off and land vertically—a flying car.

The flying cars developed by Zee.aero are capable of taking off vertically, like a helicopter, and they would also have wings that could be folded for easier parking, but for now no one knows for sure exactly how the cars work .

By founding Google, Larry Page would change the Internet and the way the world uses it, but with a company like Zee.aero, he could change the world we live in, but that only if the startup manages to bring a product to the market truly revolutionary.

Larry Page is not the only one from Silicon Valley who invests in such bold projects, and the amount is nowhere near what the American government invests in creating flying cars, or more recently flying suits similar to those in the Iron Man movies.
