Here's what the iOS 10 Photos app can identify in photos

I told you that the new application Poze, Photos, a iOS 10 is able to recognize objects and pictures in all the pictures we have available in the photo/video library of our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touches, and today we find out some additional details about what they can identify.

According to a person who managed to analyze the source code of iOS 10 and the Photos application, it is able to distinguish between 7 facial expressions and no less than 432 objects, so we are talking about a rather limited functionality, which does not require a connection at the Internet.

Regarding the facial expressions that the iOS 10 Photos application is able to distinguish, the source code analysis tells us that Apple managed to identify the following: greed, disgust, neutral states, screams, smiles, the reaction of a person taken by surprise and the reaction a suspicious person.

Analyzing the photos available in iDevices, the Photos application of iOS 10 creates certain logical categories based on the expressions or identified objects, and the one who analyzed the source code of the application managed to discover everything that was created inside the application, without we'll see.

Memories from areas of interest, Best of past memories, Memories that break out of routine, Celebration in history, Contextual memories, Crowd, Day in history, Holiday in history, Location of interest, Nearby, New contextual memories, New memories, Person's Birthdays , Person's memories, Recent events (calendar, crowd, holiday, people, person, social, trip, weekend), Region of interest, Social group memories, Sometime memories, Special memories, Favourite, Trips, Week in history, Weekend, Year summary , Last week, Last Weekend.

In the tests carried out so far by users, most praised the fact that the Photos application is able to perform searches based on a variety of words or categories of objects, including based on some objects that appear in pictures, although they are not the main ones in that picture, and as I told you above, 432 objects are recognized in iOS 10.

Additionally, you can search for various landmarks. For example, Photos can respond for search query of "Maho" (beach in Saint Martin), despite Photos is not programmed or trained to understand specific landmarks. Behind the scenes, Photos app first generates a generic categorization for the scene, "beach", then searches through a built-in dictionary for all landmarks that have the name "beach" in its definition. Therefore, cleverly, despite the Photos app knowing nothing about "Maho" in particular, it is still able to return the right results. The same applies to nature scenes, water scenes and urban scenes.

In this page you can find the list of all the objects for which searches can be made through the Pictures, Photos application of iOS 10, and based on them you can guide yourself on how to search for what interests you through the multimedia content of your terminals.
