Twitter provides quality control for tweets

Twitter has implemented new functions for controlling notifications and the quality of messages displayed in the application's news timeline.

Twitter announced the launch of two new major functions for users around the world, in a new update of the application they have the possibility to filter the notifications they see in the application used on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, a quality control for tweet- uri being also offered.

The first new function is related to the settings for notifications sent to users, they have the possibility to see notifications only from the people they follow on the network, so all those who receive a lot of notifications daily will have fewer unwanted messages to see during use daily of the terminals.

The second, much more important function allows controlling the quality of the tweets that we see in the application's timeline, a setting is available in the settings menu of the Twitter application, and as soon as it is activated, the network will filter the messages that are displayed in our timeline every day.

According to those from Twitter, the messages are filtered based on some key points that take into account the origin of the account and the way it sends messages in the social network, so practically all verification accounts will be favored, together with those of major publications, or of known people.

When turned on, the filter can improve the quality of Tweets you see by using a variety of signals, such as account origin and behavior. Turning it on filters lower-quality content, like duplicate Tweets or content that appears to be automated, from your notifications and other parts of your Twitter experience. It does not filter content from people you follow or accounts you've recently interacted with – and depending on your preferences, you can turn it on or off in your notifications settings.

Both functions announced today by Twitter must be activated by users for them to produce their effects, so they are not automatically activated for everyone, the changes will be implemented gradually for everyone in the next period, so you will not see them right from this moment.

The Twitter application is available for download from the AppStore in a format compatible with iPhone or iPad following this link.
