The first Pokemon GO police team patrols the streets of Bangkok

The Thai authorities are completely overwhelmed by the said problem Pokemon GO, the launch of the game in the country giving rise to a hysteria among the citizens rushing to catch all the virtual animals. The problem is big because they gather in large numbers on the streets of Bangkok, blocking them, or causing accidents by using the game at the wheel.

In order to try to bring things to some normality, the authorities in Thailand decided to create a special team of 50 police officers who will follow Pokemon GO players. They will be equipped with smartphones that they will use to record images of violations of the letter of the law, and they will apply appropriate fines.

The most crowded streets in Bangkok will be patrolled by these police officers, they will restrict the access of Pokemon GO players in the respective areas. No matter what kind of pokemon will be in that location, the police will block players' access, but that's within their power because it's hard to stop hundreds of people from doing something.

This is the first time that a special police team is dedicated to the surveillance of Pokemon GO players, but considering the fact that in Asia the popularity of the game is much higher than in the rest of the world, it is not excluded to see similar measures taken in other countries in the region .

"A team of 50 officers equipped with mobile phone cameras will patrol the streets and take photos of violators. The operation, which is intended to limit the areas where players can catch the game's animated creatures, will target those searching for the critters especially on crowded areas."
