Apple is developing a video editing application

Apple is developing a video editing application with which it hopes to win over young people who use Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), loses contact with young people and is aware of this, so she thought of creating a video editing application to compete with Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, Snapchat and others. The application has integrated social elements and Apple is trying to take advantage of the popularity of social networks to promote its products.

According to some information that appeared today, it seems that engineers from the departments that developed iMovie and Final Cut Pro are in charge of developing this application. It will allow us to record video clips, apply filters and possibly draw on them, then share those video clips on social networks in just 1 minute.

The application is designed to work with one hand, the idea behind it being that any video clip can be recorded, edited and shared in just 1 minute. She could steal from Instagram the idea of recording video content in a square format, which is then easy to edit, send and view on any kind of mobile terminal.

The application is currently in the early stages of development and its list of functions is still being checked and updated by its engineers. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), wants to launch the application in the first part of 2017, but only if it will be good enough to be offered to users from all over the world.

"Now Apple is starting to develop a video sharing app that allows users to record video, apply filters and drawings to the media — much like Snapchat does — and send it to contacts or via existing social networks such as Twitter Inc., according to the people familiar with its development. The software is currently being designed to be used mostly with one hand and with the intention that video could be shot, edited, and uploaded in less than 1 minute, the people said. At least one of the prototype designs for the app would shoot video in an Instagram-like square shape, one of the people said."

For this project Apple hired Joe Weil, the president of a former company specialized in video editing, he was working on the development of a video-blogging application called KnowMe. Considering that for now Apple's plans are not finalized, it will be interesting to see if the application will be launched again or not.
