Google Pixel XL has weaker autonomy than iPhone 7 Plus

The Google Pixel XL has much less battery life than the iPhone 7 Plus, despite the fact that it has a larger capacity battery.

Google Pixel XL, the latest phablet launched on global markets and a direct competitor to the iPhone 7 Plus, was tested the other day to check its battery autonomy. Below you can see the results of this test, and surprisingly its autonomy is weaker than that of the iPhone 7 Plus, which I did not expect.

Google Pixel Xl can work up to 7 hours and 19 minutes in daily use, i.e. the same as a Galaxy S7 Edge, they are separated by only one minute. iPhone 7 Plus achieves an autonomy of 9 hours and 5 minutes, so a huge difference compared to the Google Pixel XL, something that probably no one would have expected, considering the way the product was designed.

Google Pixel XL has a 3450 mAh battery, 400 mAh more than the iPhone 7 Plus, but even so it has a much lower autonomy. The difference is 1 hour and 44 minutes, a very big one, considering that the new Google smartphone has a larger battery capacity than Apple's product.

Compared to the rest of the Android smartphones, the Google Pixel XL has the same autonomy as the Galaxy S7 Edge, but also extremely close to that of the Motorola Moto Z Force Droid Edition. The rest of the Android terminals have an autonomy of less than 7 hours, the difference being big compared to Google Pixel XL, but also Samsung or Motorola smartphones.

In terms of charging, the Google Pixel XL needs 2 hours, over an hour less than the iPhone 7 Plus, but 20 minutes more than the Galaxy S7 Edge. The fast charging of the Google Pixel XL is actually slower than other smartphones, but we are talking about a huge difference compared to the iPhone 7 Plus.

Having said that, it will be interesting to see how the autonomy of the Google Pixel and iPhone 7 terminals will compare.
