iOS has a one-handed keyboard

iOS has a secret keyboard for the iPhone that allows it to be used with one hand to write any kind of text in applications.

Although it has not officially launched, the Apple company has been developing for some time a modification for the virtual keyboard of iOS that allows its use with one hand. In the image below you can see the keyboard that has existed since the release of iOS 8, it allows writing with one hand while we have access to a variety of virtual keys.

Accessing this keyboard is done through a side swipe, and as you can see, it was designed to be used with the left or right hand. By activating this module, users have a series of special buttons that allow copying, pasting or cutting texts, they being visible only when using the keyboard in landscape mode.

The keyboard was discovered for the first time when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were launched, but it has not been activated by Apple until now. Even at the moment we cannot activate the keyboard, except through Xcode, the Apple company not being willing to activate this module for its users.

Although those from Apple have been developing this keyboard for some time, in the meantime other keyboards have appeared in the AppStore that allow us to use them with one hand without problems. Apple will most likely not offer us this system for the virtual keyboard of our terminals, but even without it, we can use other free applications that offer similar functionality.

UPDATED: If you have a jailbreak, then you can activate this keyboard using a new Cydia tweak called OneHanded, which can be installed following this link.
