WhatsApp will have the Stories function of Instagram

WhatsApp will have a new function called Status, which is similar to the Stories implemented in Instagram or Snapchat.

WhatsApp Messenger, the most popular text messaging application on the planet, will have a function similar to the Stories available in the Instagram application. According to the company Instagram, more than 100 million people use the Stories function to share daily stories with their friends who follow them, and now WhatsApp will have something similar.

In the images below, you can see how this function looks in the Android version of the WhatsApp application, which is currently being tested by the company, including in iOS. In WhatsApp, the function will be called Status and will have a special menu available in the main interface, next to the one for accessing our chats.

Using the Status function of WhatsApp, users will be able to share combinations of pictures and video clips with important moments in our lives. Various texts, or even emoticons, can be applied over these collages, their role being to notify several friends simultaneously about important events that we have gone through.

All WhatsApp statuses can be shared with all our contacts, or only with certain people, depending on what we want. The Status function for WhatsApp is currently only in the development process and of course it is not known when it will be publicly offered to everyone, so we will have to wait.
