Antivirus for iPhone - do you need it?

Antivirus applications for the iPhone exist in the AppStore, but they are simple tricks designed to trick terminal users.

Looking yesterday to download an application from the AppStore, I noticed that many Romanians think they need an antivirus for the iPhone, the search being in the top of those for the store. Although there are no viruses for the iPhone, some people probably had the idea that they should install an antivirus for the iPhone, even though there are no such applications.

Of course, if you search in the AppStore for antivirus applications for the iPhone, you will find some results, but the ones that are paid for are just some tricks and nothing more. None of the antivirus applications for iPhone perform their functions in the same way as an antivirus program for computer or Android does, because it cannot do this.

There are no antiviruses for the iPhone because the way the Apple company thought of the iOS operating system does not allow the creation of such software. There is malware for the iPhone that exploits some vulnerabilities of the operating system, but the so-called antivirus applications for the iPhone do not protect you from malware in one way or another.

Antivirus for iPhone - do you need it?

Various antivirus companies, including from Romania, have published antivirus applications for the iPhone in the AppStore, but they only do various unnecessary checks for the "security" of the terminals. Of course, some of them were withdrawn at some point by Apple because they generated confusion, but others have returned in the meantime.

Although for Android, for example, it is necessary to install antivirus applications due to security issues, for iPhone this does not apply. It has never been necessary, nor will it be necessary in the near future, to install antivirus applications for iPhone, and anyone who tells you that you should, is lying.

Having said that, don't be fooled by so-called iPhone antivirus applications because you don't need them since there are no iPhone viruses and there probably won't be any soon.
