iPhone 8 will have OLED screens manufactured by Samsung

iPhone 8 will benefit from OLED screens manufactured exclusively by the Samsung company, production to begin in 2017.

iPhone 8 it will have OLED screens manufactured exclusively by the Koreans from Samsung, who are also the largest global producers of these types of components. Apple is also talking to several other manufacturers, but none of them has a production capacity as high as that of Samsung, so Apple would have chosen to collaborate exclusively with the Koreans for the iPhone 8.

Three Korean companies have already started to prepare for a large-scale production of components for the iPhone 8 screen, they are suppliers of components for Samsung. They will make the first deliveries to Samsung in the middle of next year, but until then they must manufacture components for 70 million iPhone 8s.

The number of iPhone 8 units that Apple wants to produce is extremely high, but in proportion to the interest that the devices will generate. In this idea, it is expected that even more component manufacturers for OLED screens will start producing various components in the near future.

iPhone 8 will have OLED screens manufactured by Samsung

However, it is also extremely important that Samsung will be the only supplier of OLED screens for the iPhone 8, or at least in the first part. LG, Japan Display or Sharp are also in discussions with Apple, but either they do not have production lines for OLED screens, or they have extremely low production capacity at the moment.

"Interflex and BH is beefing up production of flexible printed circuit boards that will be used for Apple's next iPhone that is widely rumored to have an organic light-emitting diode display. The three firms are suppliers of Samsung Display, the sole display supplier for the first OLED iPhone that is expected to come out next year."

The OLED screens of the iPhone 8 will be manufactured in the Samsung factory in Vietnam, one of those where the explosive Galaxy Note 7 terminals were assembled. Samsung is going to start supplying OLED screens for the iPhone 8 in the middle of next year, so until then we will probably learn new details about the production of the terminal.

  1. I don't believe all their legal war, lawsuits and Courts. That's just marketing. If the Neighbor sues you for stealing his chicken, you sue him for stealing your cuckoo, do you still go to buy eggs from him?

  2. if all the "promises" from the rumors become reality, do you want to switch to iPhone 8? even if OLED will only be offered on the 5.1-5.2" version? or upgrade to S8?

  3. I'm also taking the s8 with the front camera with autofocus and I'm also taking the iphone 8. I'm exchanging the 6s plus model without the box, cables and charger that are normally sold separately 😉

  4. It will be a Super Amoled screen of the best possible quality, above everything else (LG, Sharp, JOLED, etc.), but it will not be the best possible display
Apple collaborates with Samsung because it is the only company capable of producing enormously more units than the others, but it also has the most advanced displays

  5. ok, but there are some rumors that say that there is a possibility that a 5.2" iphone will be the only one with OLED. So if that's the case, I guess you stay with the S8?!

  6. what bar dance? I'm just telling you what some rumors say. If you are a woman who dances at the bar for money, we don't all have to be

  7. "Nonetheless, for 'specific design purposes', the actual active area may be around 5.1-5.2". Other than the OLED model, we expect Apple to launch new 4.7" and 5.5" TFT-LCD iPhone models" So let us know. So as you say, me and pole dancing don't really work...but you, my girl, are PERFECT FOR HER!! Come on, my girl, move, move from the navel

  8. Attention Serbs: they are able to produce both quantitatively and qualitatively. Samsung produces a lot for nothing, if it is not able to produce well. You have to admit that Apple and Samsung concluded the deal because it suits them both, and give up the idea that "Samsung is desperate to conclude contracts with Apple"

  9. Hey, YOU APPEARED!!! run!! WOLVES BAAAAAAAAAAA. If apple wants OLED, it has to turn to Samsung, especially due to the fact that they can produce in sufficient quantity, in terms of quality, it remains to be seen what it can offer to those from Apple

  10. surely there won't be 5 years of technology difference... so you want to tell me that apple pays for the OLED in the galaxy S2-S3? well, I'd rather stay with LCD

  11. Three rows = three mistakes :)))
Yes, the "analysts" say what they want, because they are their opinions. That's why we have discussions, to express our own opinions, and if you are fair-play, you accept another's opinion, even if it doesn't resonate with yours.

I think it "will" be a successful product, because it will have the best quality piece incorporated, and which really matters - the screen.
If Apple and Samsung accepted the deal, it means that there are favorable terms for both parties, not just for one.

  12. I WAS NOT IRONIC about J3!!!! it seems to me a phone that you take and keep for 5-6 years... it reminds me of S2 or nokia 3310 etc. My cousin used an S2 model and he still has it in kkt, he hasn't used it for more than 1 year but I'm sure it still starts if he changes the battery

  13. What matters more in a smartphone? The material of the case, or the quality of the screen? What is the critical piece for the user experience?
If you have both of the best quality, very good: that's what you find in the S7 model, but if you had a choice, what would you choose? Perfect screen + lower quality case, or perfect case + lower quality screen?

  14. I prefer a case that doesn't come apart...otherwise you won't be able to use the phone, and a screen on which I can read anything...and an iPhone 4 or S2 can offer that. BUT YES, I WANT OLED on my phone and tablet

  15. I am convinced that you understood what I wanted to write. No housing disassembles SRB, so that's not the problem.
Your problem is that the plastic on the S1-5 series is of poor quality, and only aluminum is "za best".
I suggest that the material is less important, and that a maximum quality screen is preferable.
Don't tell me that all you want on a screen is to be able to read. If you get your hands on an AMOLED, you'll never go back to an LCD.

And in a shack you stay and it doesn't rain, but that's not the point of a house. You want to have comfort, appearance, etc.

  16. hmm 6 plus you couldn't do anything with that case (I mean not even small human mistakes)... there are examples. I've been saying this for months and it's the last time, since I saw S6 edge and S7 edge, I mean super amoled and screen to body ratio, I also want these 2 things. If it doesn't come with at least 1 next year, I already think I'll reprofile myself on another brand

  17. Samsung is the best, Serb! Samsung doesn't buy anything from Apple, but Apple buys a lot from Samsung.
You don't know the reasons why Apple buys from Samsung, because a purchase contract like this has several variables.
The price, the quality, the execution time, the supplier's flexibility, the penalty conditions in case the dozens or hundreds of clauses stipulated in the contract are not met, etc.

You don't come to Samsung looking only for quantity. Samsung can make 400 million screens with a resolution of 480*600 pixels, but this does not mean that Apple will come to Samsung for this, but because Samsung offers more elements than quantity.

You should know these things, and look: an employee comes to give you lessons. More more…

  18. no employee comes to give me lessons because, as you said, there are many factors in a collaboration, but as we know, Apple and Samsung have been collaborating for a long time, so everyone knows what they want. Samsung is the best at OLED for smartphones/tablets, but not at LCD... it depends on what you want, for smartphones/ipads I want OLED, but for laptops/monitors I want LCD

  19. I don't know, the idea is that at the moment they don't have LG quality OLED TVs. Plus, I'm not sure that for an object that stays lit longer like a smartphone, it's ok to have OLED... I mean the quality over time. I bought OLED because I liked how it looked and the interface, but I'm sure it won't look like it did at the beginning even in 5 years

  20. Well done Serb! That's how it goes! I love your writing too man!
But why until 17.30? Did you ask a worker to help you write the messages, and at 17.30 pm they go home?

  21. "Like" :)))
Obviously, Samsung is not good at LCD, just like Mercedes is not good at carts. Nobody invests in technology that belongs to the past, so I don't see why Samsung would bother with LCD, or kinescope TVs, etc.

  22. HOW ... I should have written in capital letters, I'm sorry.. I forgot to emphasize HOW. We'll see, at the moment Samsung has many products to update

  23. Samsung is not a leader in large OLED screens because their manufacturing process is too expensive. LG has different manufacturing process, and managed to lower the production cost.
You have a better screen than LG for nothing, if the product cannot be sold because of the price.

  24. common...lg samsung have almost the same prices. Even those from Samsung could make an OLED TV for 200 million. They lag behind in TVs and vacuum cleaners and many devices, except for smartphones. It seems that what Apple is doing is not so easy

  25. That's right: Samsung made a damn good-looking and high-quality product. It has both a screen (essential piece) and a design (not essential, but "nice to have").
Currently, I don't see what can be faulted with the S7, and the iPhone 8 is trying to catch up with the "last year" competitor.
As I said: better late than never, and I'm not kidding: Apple is doing an "ok" job with this move, but it would have done a "perfect" job if it had partnered with Samsung and developed the OLED screen together.

The market is huge, so that both companies cumulatively do not have the ability to saturate the demand. They would have eliminated the competition given by the Chinese hyenas, and they would have remained the two biggest global actors on smartphones.
As the exploitation cycle of mobile technologies is short, it follows that in these years, until the consolidation of the market positions of Apple and Samsung, each company will develop other products.

But please... Apple chose the path of "thermonuclear war", because the then CEO put too much passion into the business.

  26. You are not an engineer in OLED screens, and especially you do not have data about the manufacturing processes of both companies to make this comparison.
You suspect that Samsung could have made screens at the same cost, but apparently not.
Samsung prefers to make large LCD screens, and if they prefer that, it means there is a reason there. LG managed to produce at a reasonable cost, enough to keep the business afloat. It's not that Samsung doesn't have screens of the same quality, but it's about the fact that it didn't focus on such a thing.

It's for nothing that you make a 200 million ROL TV, if your target audience can buy a maximum of 80 million ROL. These decisions are not made over a beer, Serb! Samsung, Apple, LG, and in general any company that launches on global markets, make their decisions after several studies on marketing, technological, economic, etc.
When it was decided not to go for OLED TVs, be sure that behind the decision was the work of thousands of people: studies, inquiries, scenarios, etc.

  27. I would have been happy if Apple, instead of the iPhone 6, had brought the iPhone 6s directly, and the iPhone 7 had been released last year. I love iPhone 7 jet black, almost everything about it (minus 1 bug), but I would have liked it to have arrived on the market in September 2015! And let this year have what we will have next year

  28. It would have been very true what you say, as long as Samsung, apart from the TV industry, would have had all the products brought to the present. Somehow, over a longer period of time, LCD is better for objects that you keep the display on for a much longer period of time. I will more than likely change my TV after 5 years because of OLED

  29. We don't know what the effect of heavy use is on the OLED. At the beginning of the development of technology, but until today, a lot has changed.

  30. Now OLED technology has reached maturity, this is the reason why Apple implements them or better said Samsung sells them at a very low price and once implemented in Apple terminals they will be much better than everything else on the market.

  31. come on, for real??? well, weren't you the batman who said that you don't buy apple from samsung display of good quality??? you burn it with the "best quality piece" as if you had a phone with such a display. you and ViP are not analysts, but just keystrokers and demented people trying to convince others not to buy apple products because there are better ones on the market. you go around in the comments and oh my god you know how to interpret graphics but you thought that samsung doesn't offer apple displays. it's childish to think that apple and samsung have the same relationship as you "those who hate" apple and apple fans.

  32. iTu, what should I reply to what you wrote? You're at a level I was in grades 1-4, so…
I comment with arguments, you comment with "guess-that-would-be?"

  33. Yes? and what argument did you have when you wrote that samsung doesn't sell to those from apple display oled?
it touched your feeling when you see that some people realize that you are just a keyboardist.

  34. Alas, you girl, what neighborhood language you display! At least you managed to write 5-6 lines without grammatical mistakes :))) Bravo iTu! I am proud of you!

I didn't touch anything, I wrote that Samsung will sell the quality that Apple will pay for, but not the maximum that Samsung can produce, because the supplier is a competitor in the same market as the customer, and wants to keep an advance technological. You don't give food to the enemy.
You drool and bark like a Pekingese snot at a big dog :))) These subtleties are beyond your comprehension. You think in too simple terms: "Samsung will give the maximum, that Abea is waiting to take contracts with Apple" or "Apple rulz, jeez!"
That's what you think, but things are infinitely more complex than you can judge.

Apple could put a lower quality OLED in the iPhone 8 to have a reason to put a better OLED in the iPhone 9. If it makes the iPhone perfect, next year people won't have a reason to change it, and Apple will suffer.
You, big Apple fan, should have known that this is Apple's business model: give little by little, that if you give everything at once, you have nothing to give next year.

  35. correct, but you have to see the part with "....they will be much better" maybe the iPhone 8 will have a display like the S7, but we don't know what the S8 will be like, if it still works on quality

  36. Lache Flausat, I'm writing to you from my apple watch because I like how you match how grammatically correct I write. I can have s7 at what time my muscles want and I really don't salivate. You drool over other smartphones that you can hardly afford...
You and your life partner have chosen according to what others have said, but I have the backbone and I take the risk of what I buy to my liking. The truth is that you need 2 faculties and to be a doctor to be able to make a correct decision when you buy a smart phone, you are embarrassing with your complexity regarding the choice of smart phone.
PS: you have homework until tomorrow to correct my comment, preferably in black.

  37. There is a lot of excitement with Apple and future OLED screens. But I know that iPhone fans said, until now, that Retina is over OLED screens. Retina being actually just an LCD with a commercial name?

  38. Anyway, you're incorrigible... Like a real bully, you come and swear, because that's all you can do. The way you write shows the level of your education, and the level of education shows the success achieved in life. It is impossible for an illiterate, semi-educated person to be successful, and it is also normal for this correlation to exist.
You struggle to write, and when you do, you use such limited language that you compete with 4-5 year olds.
What should I correct about your comments? When I do it, it's because it amuses me, but now it repulses me.

  39. Interesting idea! I didn't know about this quote, but I knew about others, and the one with Picasso is my favorite 🙂
What kind of personality did Steve Jobs have, I doubt he would accept being told what to do by others 🙂

  40. I have never suggested to someone to buy anything other than an iPhone, as they erroneously accuse me @disqus_SNiP9TB318: disqusrd
Everyone is master of their actions, their desires, etc. Who am I to tell people what to do?
You don't have to justify yourself to iTurd, because you are lowering yourself to his level and it doesn't suit you.

  41. Fans said until the s6 that lcd is better than oled. From s6 the work is visible better than the LCD of the iPhone. This is how you like to say in 2016 what the fans were saying in 2014. In 2014, 1GB of RAM was enough, now with the current iOS it doesn't really cope, but that doesn't mean that we have to take back our words for the statements of those times.

  42. You have no idea what the expression "fifth wheel to the cart" means :)))) Look, let me enlighten you, and double your volume of general culture: "fifth wheel to the cart" represents the expression of uselessness, as the wagon doesn't need a fifth wheel.

Woe to your star with the pennies you earn, how you express yourself can only be 0,5 x NET of the average salary in the Republic of Moldova, because it seems that you are writing from there. You know... that "want" betrays you, "rich", and "dangerous" who you are :))))
You want to advance, that's fine... But you have sooo much work :))

  43. Apple does not buy anything from Samsung. Samsung will manufacture the OLED screens according to the standards that Apple will impose. (they will also use the technologies that Samsung already owns in the manufacture of OLED screens)

  44. Do you read what you write before you send the message? Samsung is selling, and Apple is buying, I don't see what's unclear about that. Apple has standards but no technology. Apple's standards will probably be X resolution, Y screen reflectivity, Z consumption, and so on. However, Apple BUYS and Samsung SELLS, and I think any kid understands that.
And one more thing: Apple does not "enforce" that no one is a slave to Apple. Both companies have the same bargaining power here because they both have overwhelming market share.

  45. I'm glad that you realized what it means and it really suits you very well, we don't need people like you who constantly dement. Serb is right when he says that you have the same cheap "spell" of pretending to be smart through all the comments. who is rich and dangerous? I don't consider myself rich, but I can afford things that you dream of by typing.

  46. No, really, do you know what I can afford to compare with what you can afford? iTurd, lucky for you, zaone tolerates you with the crap you write on his site, but he wouldn't tolerate me if I answered you the way I wanted to. I would tear you into a hundred little pieces at how poor in spirit you are.
You're a cheap neighborhood kid who thinks he's cool with an iPhone. There would be no harm in that, everyone has their own criteria for well-being; what bothers me is that you growl at me and write me nasty words :(((
Take and scaffold to another yard, sometimes (as in this case), people are not who you imagine. I could ignore Srb and stick with you, and I'd really like that!

  47. I don't believe you, hold on to me? maybe I'll make you my companion. Let me take you out for a drink in town and buy you flowers so that you feel better and only break the chain when you hit the keys.
You have no way to destroy me?. It is "childish" to have such intentions, thoughts at a rather advanced age like yours. But no... that's enough.

  48. iTurd, as your pair of neurons noted, I have a partner. You're probably someone's partner, I don't care.
This explains your financial "power", if you invite for a drink :))) How old are you iTurd?
