Super Mario Run: only 3% of downloads generated revenue

Super Mario Run was launched in mid-December by the Nintendo company and has already generated tens of millions of downloads through the AppStore. Although the Nintendo company has not yet revealed the revenue generated by the game that has been in the attention of the whole world for several weeks, now we know that the revenue would not be that high.

More precisely, an agency specialized in analyzing the evolution of applications from the AppStore claims that only 3% of those who downloaded Super Mario Run bought all the levels for $10. Given this estimate, it would seem that Super Mario Run would have generated only 30 million dollars in receipts from 90 million downloads in the month of December.

If the information is true, then the percentage of players who have bought the levels is very small, but still higher than the 2% recorded for the game Candy Crush. The information also comes after Super Mario Run dropped in the top of the apps that generate the most money through the AppStore, so the data could be completely true.

Super Mario Run was intensively promoted by the Apple company, separately by Nintendo, and the money generated by the game so far shows that it is not really that interesting. If, even with Apple's help, Nintendo didn't manage to convince more people to buy the levels created for Super Mario Run, then sales will continue to decrease in the future.

"Newzoo estimates that Super Mario Run has generated more than $30 million in gross revenue, which suggests about 3 million players have bought the full game. That is a little over 3% of the estimated 90 million downloads of the game."
