The Apple company confirmed during this day that it will invest 1 billion dollars in the Softbank Vision Fund, one of the largest investment funds on the planet. With a total amount of 100 billion dollars, this investment fund will use the money in the development of recently appeared technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics or interconnected devices.
Apple has been discussing this investment with Softbank since December, but it has only now announced its participation in it with 1% of the total amount that is raised. Those from Apple still believe that the investment fund will have a strategic importance in the development of these new technologies, which need support to reach maturity.
Those from Softbank will contribute 25 billion dollars to this investment fund, while the government of Saudi Arabia will contribute 45 billion dollars, so 71% of the amount is already collected. The rest will come from other companies, or governments, and in the end I think that the amount of 100 billion dollars will definitely be raised to improve our future.
50 billion dollars from the money collected by this investment fund will be invested in the USA and will create 50.000 new jobs, Donald Trump praising this initiative. The rest of the money will be invested, most likely, mainly in Asia, the location where the vast majority of new technologies used around the world are developed and tested.
