iOS 10 runs on 76% of iDevices

iOS 10, the new version of the operating system for iPhone and iPad launched in the fall by Apple, has been installed on 76% of iDevices so far. Practically, three quarters of the terminals that can run iOS 10 have installed this version of the operating system, and here we are most likely talking about at least 700 million devices.

Apple announced last year that it has 1 billion active iDevices globally, with the figure increasing over time, so we are now talking about over 1.1 or 1.2 billion active units. At the end of January, 63% of iDevices were running iOS 10, so we are talking about an increase of 13 percentage points in the last month for the adoption rate of iOS 10.

The Apple company has updated iOS 10 once since then and until now, and the increase is most likely driven by the Black Friday and Christmas promotions held all over the world. A few dozen iDevices were most likely sold worldwide in the last three months and they have joined the ranks of those already running iOS 10.

Although there is no public and stable jailbreak solution for iOS 10, Apple customers still rushed to install the new version of the operating system on their terminals. This trend will continue in the coming months and will most likely reach 90% around June, when iOS 11 will be officially presented and will be released in beta version.
