CES 2017: Nurugo – the smallest microscope in the world

CES 2017 brings us Nurugo, the smallest microscope ever created for smartphones, and in the video clip below you can see how it works. Called Micro, this microscope has the smallest dimensions for such a device and is able to magnify up to 400x everything that is in front of the smartphone camera.

We are talking about a very large zoom that such a small microscope offers and everything is possible by simply attaching it to the front of a smartphone camera, any camera application being able to record the images. Normally, a gadget of this kind does not offer such a high level of zoom for a smartphone, but the people from Nurugo have achieved something extraordinary.

For an ordinary user, Nurugo may be an unimportant accessory, but for a researcher, or even a doctor, it can be extremely important. Nurugo can replace a real microscope in certain situations, so its applications in the real world can be multiple and sometimes can even contribute to much faster scientific discoveries.

For now, it is not known how much Nurugo will cost, but it is going to enter a funding process through Kickstarter during this month, so if it gets the necessary money for production, it will be launched.
