Apple confirms TV content production

Yesterday, Tim Cook spoke during the audio conference for the presentation of the financial results for Q4 2016 of the Apple company and discussed everything that happened in the last months. Among various praises, Tim Cook also confirmed that Apple is currently producing original TV content for Apple Music.

Tim Cook believes that the media industry will evolve in the coming years as the world abandons standard cable subscriptions, so Apple will have new opportunities. Tim Cook did not reveal what kind of multimedia content he is developing at the moment, but he said that all this content is to be launched this year for customers.

Apple TV is the main platform for which this content is developed, but of course it will also be available on iDevices/Macs at the same time. Tim Cook claims that Apple contributes 150 million subscribers to the existing multimedia services worldwide, so creating original TV content is perfectly normal.

No one knows how much Apple will invest in the creation of such multimedia content, but we are probably talking about tens or hundreds of millions of dollars.

"In terms of original content, we've put our toe in the water doing some original content for Apple Music, and that will be rolling out throughout the year. We're learning from that and we'll go from there."
