Jaguar allows drivers to pay for their fuel without getting out of the car

Jaguar launched today the first mobile payment system for fuel that allows drivers to pay at gas stations without getting out of the car. The mobile payment system is compatible with Apple Pay, so even users of Apple products can use it when they visit a gas station to fill up their car.

Jaguar launched the system in partnership with those from Shell and for now only in Great Britain, but it will also be available in other countries in the future. Drivers will be able to use the car's infotainment system to choose the amount of fuel they need, as well as the payment method, Paypal, Apple Pay and Android Pay being among them.

In the video clip below you can see how the entire system works, and at the moment only the 2018 Jaguar F-PACE, XE and XF models have the technology implemented. The idea for these systems is based on the fact that Jaguar car drivers will no longer make payments at fuel pumps using bank cards and will do it directly from the car.

Jaguar's idea is extremely interesting and will definitely "catch" the drivers of the few Jaguar car models that will benefit from it.

"Rather than using a card at the pump, or waiting in the service station, owners who install the Shell app can simply drive up to any pump at a Shell service station (initially in the UK and then globally) and use the vehicle's touchscreen to select how much fuel they require and securely pay using PayPal® or Apple Pay®. Android Pay™ will be added later in 2017."
