Facebook Messenger offers us two new functions starting today, the Facebook company officially announcing their implementation in the application for iPhone and iPad. According to those from Facebook, starting today Facebook Messenger allows us to react to the messages of our friends, but to make mentions directly in the conversations.
The function for reactions available starting in Facebook Messenger is similar to the one already implemented for some time in the Facebook application and on the website. Based on it, we will be able to react to received messages with various emoticons that the application now has available to us, just as we would react in the News Feed, or in individual posts.
Reactions can be made for any kind of messages received from other people in Facebook Messenger conversations, including emoji characters. Those from Facebook believe that the implementation of this new function for Facebook Messenger will encourage people to have more conversations, but it remains to be seen if they are right.

Regarding mentions, we are still talking about something similar to what exists in Facebook or Twitter, only now we are talking about Facebook Messenger chats. Starting today, we can mention a friend in a Facebook Messenger chat, and he will receive a notification informing him that we mentioned him in a discussion.
By accessing that notification, the mentioned person will be able to enter the respective Facebook Messenger chat to be able to respond to our mention. The idea of those from Facebook is interesting and will probably make the world much more attentive to conversations in chats that they probably ignored in everyday life, but they will not do it now.
