iPhone 8 could be called, simply, iPhone

iPhone 8 could be called iPhone, the Apple company being able to "return to its origins" with a special name for an equally special iPhone.

What if iPhone 8 was simply called iPhone? Would people get scared and stop buying the new Apple product, could sales drop dramatically, or would things move forward? Last week the Apple company reset the tablet line by launching a tablet called, very simply, iPad, practically eliminating the Air series from the offer.

With this launch of the iPad, the Apple company returned to the year 2010 when it made this name known to the whole world, and the same thing could happen with the iPhone. 10 years after the launch of the first model of the iPhone, the Apple company could make the decision to launch a new smartphone that could be called, simply, iPhone, instead of iPhone 8.

The idea itself seems improbable, but at the same time very possible, because Apple has a habit of unexpectedly returning to simple versions of its product names. Just as it made the decision to relaunch the iPad by changing the name of the main product, the Apple company can make the same decision with the iPhone 8 and give up this figure in its name.

It is also a quite logical choice if we think about the fact that the iPhone 7S is also going to be launched by Apple this fall. The launch of iPhone 7S and iPhone 8 will generate a lot of confusion among customers who will look at the 7S model as one year old and not as one launched together with iPhone 8 on the global markets.

Of course, even the launch of the iPhone 7S and iPhone would not bring us to an ideal situation, but the promotion of these products could be made simpler and more logical. Moreover, it would give Apple the opportunity to avoid launching the iPhone 10 in a few years, as the X code has been removed from macOS, so it is unlikely that we will see it on the iPhone.

Choosing the name iPhone instead of iPhone 8 does not need complex explanations, we are talking about a return to the origins, about the celebration of an iPhone launched 10 years ago with the use of the same name. Marketing for the product would also be simplified, and customers would understand more easily what the situation is.
