Samsung Galaxy S8 vs iPhone 7 – water resistance test

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is much more water resistant than the red iPhone 7, the result being completely unexpected.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is compared with the iPhone 7 today to show us which one is more resistant to contact with water, and the result is completely surprising. Although the iPhone 7 proved in the autumn of last year that it is extremely resistant to contact with water, well in this clip it proves to be more fragile than the Samsung Galaxy S8 when it comes to immersion in water.

The red version of the iPhone 7 has been tested, and based on what we see below, it could be less water resistant than the models in other colors, it being without question less resistant than the Samsung Galaxy S8. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S8, the iPhone 7 terminal succumbed to immersion in a little over 1 meter of water, something that in many other previous tests did not happen, the situation being a completely new one.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 worked without problems even after diving to such a great "depth", the iPhone 7 being taken out of testing after this failure, as was normal. You can see that although the Samsung Galaxy S8 remained intact, the red iPhone 7 remained with a lot of water under the screen, it penetrated right from the moment of immersion, activating the personal assistant Siri.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 then went to another test that involved a swimming session in the water near a port, the terminal resisting without problems even though the water temperature was quite low. Of course, I have seen the iPhone 7 and other Samsung terminals tested in the same conditions without problems, but today only the Samsung Galaxy S8 has reached this far, the iPhone 7 failing much faster.

Those from Samsung said from the very beginning that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is water resistant and certified with the IP68 standard, the iPhone 7 being water resistant with the IP67 standard. Despite this difference, the iPhone 7 terminals have withstood similar tests like today's without problems in the past, but also much harder ones, but now the Samsung Galaxy S8 has come out victorious, surprisingly.

There is a possibility that the red iPhone 7 terminals are less water resistant than the models in other colors, but overall the Samsung Galaxy S8 should be more resistant than any iPhone. Having said that, if you want to take pictures underwater, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is a more logical choice than the iPhone 7.
