Apple Watch saved the life of a young student

An Apple Watch from the Apple company recently saved the life of a student involved in a road accident that took place in Maryland, USA. The student was going to classes on April 6, when his car was hit by another car and overturned, he was stuck in the car after the airbags went off and his seat belt was fastened in the seat.

Although the man remained stable in the seat, his iPhone terminal flew from the central console to another part of the car and he was unable to reach the terminal to call the emergency services. At that moment, the young student decided to use the SOS function of the Apple Watch to call 911 and ask for help.

Pressing the side button of the Apple Watch automatically calls the emergency services in the US and so the man managed to quickly ask for help when he needed it. The student also contacted the Apple company and detailed the story of his experience, including receiving a response from Cupertino for everything he explained.

To be able to use this SOS function on the Apple Watch, you will have to set it in your watch, so it is good to know that it is not available to everyone by default.

"I was trying to figure out if I could get out, and I was like nope, you're just going to have to hang out here. It was then that he pushed one button on his Apple Watch. I just pressed down this side button on here for six seconds and it called 911.”
