Today, the people from Orange sent the message below announcing that starting from June 15, national minutes and SMS from the subscriptions will be able to be used in roaming in the EEA at no additional cost to the customer.
In terms of internet traffic, only certain subscriptions and offers for the card will allow the use of the data allocated monthly and in the EEA space without an additional cost. For the rest of the world, Orange will charge a monthly cost of 0.0092 for each MB of data consumed, so for every 100 MB consumed in roaming, you will pay 92 eurocents.
The amount is small enough to motivate anyone to use the Internet while roaming in the EEA without thinking about the fact that it could have an additional cost of hundreds of euros. The offer from Orange will most likely be similar to Vodafone and Telekom for the internet, the rest of the benefits being imposed by the European Commission on the operators.
Orange and Vodafone "rushed" to offer some of their customers the "benefits" of roaming subscriptions even now, but here we are talking about a limited offer. Orange and Vodafone only allow users of certain subscriptions to enjoy the calls and internet from the subscription, including roaming in the EEA, so if you are going to travel, it is good to ask in advance if you are included in the promotion.
The EEA is the European Economic Area and consists of all the countries of the European Union, plus Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland.
"From 15.06, you can talk in Europe like at home, because you will be able to use nat resources for calls/SMS and roaming in the EEA states to other EEA states. The amount of data available for roaming consumption in the states of the European Economic Area can be found from June 15 at *100#. After consuming the resources, roaming tariffs in the EEA for min/SMS will be the national ones, and for internet roaming in the EEA the tariff will be 0.0092 euro/MB including VAT."
