Samsung unveils a premium smartphone, but with a clamshell

Samsung is currently developing a premium smartphone that has a clamshell, this being the foldable terminal we keep hearing about. It has been rumored for months that Samsung wants to revolutionize the smartphone world with a new smartphone, and a foldable one could raise some eyebrows, or bring some money into Samsung's accounts.

This foldable smartphone will have some functions of the Samsung Galaxy S8 integrated to generate the idea of a premium terminal. Among them is a fingerprint reader, water resistance, but it is not excluded that a wireless charging system will be available, together with possible cameras of as good quality as those in current products.

The new smartphone from Samsung could have the code name SM-W2017, a screen with two OLED screens with a diagonal of 4.2 inches and a Snapdragon 430 chip with poor performance. The terminal could have 64 GB of storage space, a main camera of 12 megapixels and a front one of 5 megapixels, but this is where the information about the specifications ends.

Although this foldable smartphone will have many important specifications, the use of a Snapdragon 430 chip suggests the idea that the terminal will not have such premium terminals. If Samsung will not implement top components in its new flip smartphone, then it is clear that it will be a device of the dozen and not a premium one.

"Samsung plans to launch a new folder phone with high-end features such as wireless charging, fingerprint scanning and Samsung Pay. The phone is expected to feature 4.2-inch dual OLED display screens; Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor; 64GB memory; 2300mAh battery capacity; 12 megapixel rear-facing and 5 megapixel front-facing cameras."
