iOS 11 – Siri will have a series of important news

iOS 11 will bring a series of important news for Siri, the Apple company intending to expand the categories of applications with support for the assistant.

iOS 11 will be presented by the Apple company during the evening of Monday, June 5, and considering that the presentation is fast approaching, today we learn some new details. More precisely, today we learn some information about the news that iOS 11 will have for the Siri personal assistant that is available in all Apple iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches.

We are not talking about the expansion of support for the languages that Siri will understand in iOS 11, but about the compatibility with the applications for iPhone and iPad. More precisely, the Apple company intends to allow new types of applications to have integrated support for Siri in iOS 11, all related to the intelligent speaker currently in development.

Specifically, Apple wants Siri in iOS 11 to be more effective in competing with Amazon Alexa or Google Home, so it will offer support for new types of applications. This support for Siri in iOS 11 will also be extended to the smart speaker that the people from Cupertino have in production right now and intend to present it on Monday.

iOS 11 – Siri will have a series of important news

Of course, the categories of new applications that will be able to support Siri in iOS 11 have not been disclosed, but we will find out everything on Monday. At the moment, only applications for travel booking, messaging, photo search, mobile payments, VoIP calls and monitoring fitness sessions can integrate with Siri, but in iOS 11 the list will be expanded.

Theoretically, it should be about the fact that starting with iOS 11 Siri will be able to control music applications, movies, magazines, plus other types of similar applications. The smart speaker cannot be useful without support for such applications in iOS 11, as customers will not want to exclusively use Apple Music to listen to music using them, so Siri must have greater support.

"Apple Inc is expected to announce plans next week to make its Siri voice assistant work with a larger variety of apps, as the technology company looks to counter the runaway success of Amazon.com Inc's (AMZN.O) competing Alexa service... But the The Cupertino, California company is likely to stick to its tested method of focusing on a small amount of features and trying to perfect them, rather than casting as wide a net as possible, according to engineers and artificial intelligence industry insiders."

I know that many of you would like Siri to start understanding Romanian in iOS 11, unfortunately it is unlikely that this will happen. The Apple company does not put much emphasis on providing support for Siri in Romanian when there are other countries where better sales are made, so don't expect iOS 11 to bring us something like that.
