roaming with good benefits will also exist at Digi Mobil, the mobile operator respecting to a certain extent the provisions of the plan Roam like at Home. In an internal document from Digi Mobil, provided by a reader, we see what kind of benefits roaming customers will have starting on June 15, depending on the subscription they have.
Those from Digi Mobil asked ANCOM for permission to apply a surcharge for customers who use subscriptions and prepaid cards in roaming, but they will comply with EU provisions. This compliance with the provisions is temporary, according to those from Digi Mobil, until the moment ANCOM approves their roaming fee, if it does otherwise they will have to comply Roam like at Home as it is.
Until then, Digi Mobil announces through this document that the benefits of minutes, national SMS and mobile data included in subscriptions will be available in roaming under certain conditions. For initiated minutes and SMS, Digi Mobil customers will consume everything they have in their roaming subscription in the EEA space as they would do nationally in Romania, i.e. the national minutes and SMS are consumed from the subscription, and when they are finished, it is charged at the value of the national ones in Romania, i.e. 0.01 euro, without VAT, for calls and SMS.
Roaming – Digi Mobil and minute, SMS and internet rates
In the case of subscriptions with unlimited national minutes and SMS, the rule is the same as above, within the limits of reasonable usage, so Digi Mobil can suspend roaming benefits when it believes an abuse is being committed. Those from Digi Mobil also give some examples in the document for what they consider to be fraudulent use of benefits in roaming, and apart from these, received calls are not charged.
For mobile internet, things are more complicated, but Digi Mobil applies, because it is mandatory, the same tariff of 0.0077 EUR/MB, without VAT, for mobile internet traffic made while roaming. Furthermore, Digi Mobil divides the internet available in roaming according to each type of subscription, as follows:
- Optimum 2 – 419 MB;
- Optimum 3 – 629 MB;
- Advantage 2 – 432 MB;
- Advantage 3 – 650 MB;
- Advantage 5 – 1083 MB;
- Optimum unlimited 1 subscription – 1048 MB;
- Optimum unlimited 2 subscriptions – 838 MB;
- Optimum unlimited 3 subscriptions – 696 MB;
- Optimum Unlimited – 629 MB.
In the picture below, you can also see the costs that apply after you exceed the traffic allocated by Digi Mobil for roaming in the EEA area, so you know how much internet to use. Do not forget that these benefits are provisional and offered by Digi Mobil for roaming only until ANCOM approves the surcharge requested by the operator, but if it rejects it, they will remain permanent.
