WhatsApp – send Any kind of Files to iPhone

WhatsApp will send any kind of files to the iPhone thanks to a new function that the company is going to officially activate soon.

WhatsApp has integrated a new extremely interesting function for iPhone terminals at the moment, it will be officially activated by the developer company soon. We are talking about a new function for the WhatsApp application dedicated to the iPhone, which will allow us to share any kind of files to our contacts through the messaging platform.

WhatsApp currently allows the sharing of documents via iPhone in csv, doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx and similar formats. WhatsApp still does not allow the sharing of other types of files, or of large video clips, but that is changing, the company developing the application is going to make a major change for users all over the world.

More precisely, in the near future WhatsApp will allow us to share any type of files through the application available for iPhone terminals. From documents to video clips of up to 128 MB, archives, or any other type of files that we have in iPhone terminals, the WhatsApp application offers support for sharing with everyone at any time.

WhatsApp is testing this feature with some users at the moment and it might be activated randomly for them, but file sharing is extremely slow for now. This could be based on the fact that the WhatsApp servers thoroughly analyze the files before sharing them, but the data transfer speed will be improved when the function is officially launched.

The integration of this function in the WhatsApp application for iPhone is done together with an extension of the support offered through the WhatsApp Web platform for us. More precisely, through WhatsApp Web we will be able to send any kind of files to any WhatsApp user, as long as their maximum size is 64 MB, but this does not mean that they will and can be opened on the iPhone without the appropriate applications.

With this change, WhatsApp is trying to convince users to share more files and have more conversations with each other using the iPhone application. WhatsApp has over 1.2 billion users worldwide, and a feature like this will certainly make it more attractive, although it could generate very big security problems for the company.

Considering that this new WhatsApp function is currently being tested with some users, it remains to be seen when it will be officially launched for the whole world.
