Samsung is developing a revolutionary VR headset

Samsung is developing a revolutionary VR headset that aims to change the way we use virtual reality using our smartphones.

Samsung is developing a VR helmet, for virtual reality, revolutionary, with which he hopes to convince more people to try this type of technology. Unlike other similar VR headsets, the one from the Samsung company bears the name Exynos VR III and it has some very impressive specifications, plus technologies that could completely change the experience of using such products.

More precisely, the new VR headset from Samsung works on the basis of a 10nm processor similar to the one in smartphones and has a high-performance Mali G71 video card. The specifications are similar to those of the Samsung Galaxy S8, and the virtual reality headset can display information on two screens with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which have a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The components in Samsung's new VR headset can also display information on a 4K resolution screen, but this time at a 75 Hz refresh rate. Judging by the object in the image below, we are still talking about a rather large VR headset that Samsung is developing, so probably quite large screens are also used for the best possible experience.

The most interesting part for this new VR headset from Samsung is that it can track eye movements, separately from those of the head and from analyzing facial expressions. Samsung presented the VR headset during an event that took place at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, in March, but only now did the first information appear from a company called Visual Camp.

Tracking eye movements and guessing the point where the gaze is focused is an important point of the technology developed by Samsung for the VR headset. With the help of the technology used by Samsung, the VR headset could allow us to control applications, or games, without using hand or head movements, with only those of the eyes.

The biggest achievement in this regard is the integration of this type of technology in a VR headset for smartphones, those from Samsung being able to revolutionize mobile virtual reality. Of course, no one knows if Samsung can launch a commercial product that has all these new features and doesn't cost much, but maybe in the next period anything would be possible.

The current VR headset for Samsung smartphones offers a very bad experience, so maybe things will change radically in the future.
