Google Home saved a person's life

Google Home, the smart speaker sold by the Google company on global markets, saved the life of a person in the USA thanks to a phrase spoken by the attacker. A man was in a house in Tijeras, Albuquerque, with his girlfriend and her daughter, but at one point he started to become aggressive with her, including a gun in his hand.

Google Home started paying attention to the discussions in the house when the man started yelling and threatening to kill the woman with the gun he had. At one point in the discussion, the man asked the woman if she had called the police to help her, using a phrase like "Did you call the sheriffs?", Google Home interpreting the question as a command to call the police.

Google Home called the emergency services, who heard the discussion that was taking place in the house and sent several crews to detain the aggressive man, who also had a weapon in his hand. The woman was left with some injuries as a result of the domestic dispute, but thanks to Google Home she was not killed by the man who seemed to be determined to commit a crime that evening.

Google Home is able to follow any kind of conversations in homes and take voice commands from users, and the same will be offered by HomePod of the Apple company. Of course, Google Home is a version with fewer functions, but it had enough available to save the life of a mother and her daughter when no other solution for the situation seemed possible.

"Barros allegedly wielded a firearm and threatened to kill his girlfriend, asking her: "Did you call the sheriffs?" A smart speaker, which was hooked up to a surround sound system inside the home, recognized that as a voice command and called 911, Romero said. The sheriff's department said deputies arrived on scene and were able to remove the woman and her daughter from the residence."
