Facebook has over 2 billion users worldwide, and that means that people from all corners of the planet connect to the social network every day. Because Facebook is so complex and used from so many corners of the planet, someone thought to show us which are the main 10 countries from which the social network is used, but also which are the main 10 cities.
Facebook was used the most in the US until recently, but India has overtaken it, for now, with 1 million monthly active users. We are talking about 241 million Facebook users in India compared to 240 million active users in the US, in the case of the second country 75% of the population using Facebook, while in India only almost 20% of the total population of country uses the social network.
Facebook also has 139 million users from Brazil, here the percentage is 60%, 126 million Indonesians use the network monthly, here the percentage is almost 50%. Next, in the top 10 countries with the largest Facebook users we find Mexico, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey and Great Britain, the percentages of the population using the social network being high in all these countries.

Facebook also has a top 10 of the cities with the most users, but here we are most likely talking about extended metropolitan areas, or a lot of active robots. Bangkok, a city with 8 million inhabitants, has 35 million active users on Facebook, while Jakarta, a city with 10 million inhabitants, has 26.5 million users of the social network Facebook.
Facebook still has many users from Dhaka, Mexico City, and only in the case of Istanbul we have a figure close to the total population, the city hosting 14.8 million inhabitants. Next, New Delhi, Lima, Cairo, Sao Paolo and Ho Chi Minh are listed in the top 10 cities where there are the most users of the Facebook social network, the figures for many being far from reality.
Facebook has half of the total number of monthly active users coming from these 10 countries, so the rest of over 100 from which traffic comes sums up 48% of the total number of users. It is also impressive to see that only 10 countries on the globe account for half of the total number of Facebook users, and this says a lot about the success the network has had in them.
Facebook does not provide this kind of data regarding the number of active users in its network, but it is quite likely that some information is very close to reality.
