Google Pixel 2 - new processor in the fight with iPhone 8

Google Pixel 2 will have a new Snapdragon 836 processor implemented by Google, it being offered for the first time for a smartphone.

Google Pixel 2 will come this year with a new processor designed to compete with the one that Apple will launch for iPhone 8 this fall. We are talking here about a new Qualcomm Snapdragon chip that will be integrated into the Google Pixel 2 this fall, it being able to offer close, equal, or maybe even superior performances compared to those that the A11 chip of the iPhone8 will offer from the fall.

Google Pixel 2 is going to be launched by Google with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor, which was rumored to be offered in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in August. It is superior to the Snapdragon 835 used in the Samsung Galaxy S8 from March, so the Google Pixel 2 should offer at least 10% better performance than the processor currently used by Samsung.

Google Pixel 2 is not a very big increase in performance for the Snapdragon 836 processor, but considering that we are talking about an intermediate version, we should not have expected more. Google Pixel 2 will have this new processor to be able to fight more effectively with an A11 chip that should bring an iPhone 8 with clearly superior performance compared to the existing processor in the current top Android terminals.

Google Pixel 2 – new processor in the fight with iPhone 8

Google Pixel 2 basically follows the tradition started last year by those from Qualcomm and Google, last year the first version of this smartphone was launched with Snapdragon 820. Basically Google wants Google Pixel 2 to have a different and better processor compared to those implemented in the current Android terminals and I imagine that it pays quite well for this privilege offered by Qualcomm.

The Google Pixel 2 will only be the first Android smartphone to have this new processor, because many other Android terminals will want it in the fight with the iPhone 8. In the fall, other terminals apart from the Google Pixel 2 will benefit from this processor because Apple has prepared an important upgrade with the new A11 chip that he intends to use in the iPhone 8, and the Android manufacturers must have an answer for him.

"A few chaps are implying that Note 8 might be the first phone to have an updated and faster Snapdragon 836, but we learned that Pixel 2 is more likely the one. The new Pixel, according to our industry friends, has a smaller chip and you can expect better quality pictures too."

Google Pixel 2 with its new Snapdragon 836 processor will only have higher maximum operating frequencies than the current model, because otherwise there should be no differences. Having said that, the Google Pixel 2 is seriously preparing before entering the battle with the iPhone 8, so it will be interesting to see what kind of performance there will be for the device after it is officially launched on global markets.
