iPhone 8 will have a new virtual Home button integrated by Apple, and it will replace the physical 3D Touch implemented last year in iPhone 7. The new virtual Home button of iPhone 8 is implemented because Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is forced to give up the physical one after expanding the screen to cover the entire front panel of the smartphone, a change that is worth making even with such a compromise.
iPhone 8 has not revealed details for this Home button until now, but iOS 11 in HomePod gives us some details about it. More precisely, the new virtual Home button of the iPhone 8 will be included in a special area of functions, and this will be able to be resized, but it is not known whether by the users, or whether by the Apple company in the various applications in which it will be displayed this interface with utilities.

iPhone 8 still has the best news announced by a developer who found code entries in iOS 11 regarding this Home button and the dedicated function area. More precisely, the entire function area of the iPhone 8 will be able to be completely hidden in certain applications or interfaces, but it is not known if the user will be able to do this, or if everything will be done automatically by iOS 11 depending on how it is thought the application.
The iPhone 8 will have a screen with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, but only 5.2 inches of the total will display applications and content, 0.6 inches will be allocated to the function area. I always wondered if Apple would allow us to recover these 0.6 inches to be able to display useful information, not buttons with functions that are not always useful, and those who created iOS 11 for iPhone 8 seem to have seriously thought about it .
iPhone 8 with an iOS 11 that will be able to hide that function area would be great and the news that it can still be hidden at least sometimes is excellent.
