Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs iPhone 7 Plus – Camera Comparison

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a camera compared to that of the iPhone 7 Plus, demonstrating its supremacy over the product launched by Apple last year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 7 Plus have their dual cameras compared in a video clip meant to show us which one offers the best quality for recording videos and photos. You already know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the first Samsung premium smartphone in which a dual camera was implemented and we are talking about a real "jewel" in terms of specifications offered by the Koreans.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 camera consists of two 12 megapixel sensors, the first with a focal length of 26mm and f/1.7 aperture, the second with a focal length of 52mm and f/2.4 aperture. Both image sensors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have 2X optical zoom, the first having a sensor size of 1/2.55″, pixel size of 1.4 µm, the second having a sensor size of 1/3.6″ and the pixel size of 1.0 µm.

The iPhone 7 Plus also has a dual camera with 12 megapixel sensors, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, except that theirs have a focal length of 29mm/56mm and an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.8. Only the second sensor has 2X optical zoom, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the first sensor of the iPhone 7 Plus has a size of 1/3″ while the second has a size of 1/3.6″, both modules being inferior to those of the Samsung phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also has a major lead over the iPhone 7 Plus in terms of picture quality and video recording, and the video clip below clearly demonstrates this. You can easily see that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 does much better than the iPhone 7 Plus in almost all aspects of recording, which we expected without any doubt from the new product, considering the quality of the cameras.

The cameras used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are of the latest generation, while the iPhone 7 Plus has cameras that are 1 year old, which did not amaze even in 2016, when the product was launched. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 displays much more natural colors in most situations, much more details for everything that is seen and better light for the entire recorded environment, sometimes there is a slight oversaturation of colors.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 does not have a perfect dual camera, as expected, but compared to that of the iPhone 7 Plus, it does much better in all situations. Those from Apple struggle to implement the best cameras in all the phones they launch on the market, but of course they don't always manage to amaze with products that are superior to the competition in all respects, and what we see now with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a clear proof.
