iPhone X has the release date, the price, the new 5.8-inch diagonal screen, the Face ID facial recognition system, the dual vertical camera, the front 3D camera and many other novelties confirmed today. The Apple company is currently presenting the new iPhone X in the Steve Jobs theater in Apple Park, the mobile phone being awaited by tens of millions of Apple fans from various areas of the planet right now.
The iPhone X is presented together with the iPhone 8 by the Apple company, but we are talking about the anniversary version of the iPhone, which is called the iPhone 10or iPhone tan, so the X represents the Romanian number 10. The iPhone X is the most important iPhone model released by the Apple company since the iPhone 2G, thanks to the extremely large number of changes that the Americans have prepared for us.
5.8 inch Super Retina Display OLED screen, glass case and a new design
iPhone X is the first Apple phone to have a screen with a diagonal of 5.8 inches and a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels, 458 pixels per inch, called Super Retina Display, which covers the entire front panel of the case, the Home button being completely removed. We have known for some time that the iPhone X will have such a large screen that covers the entire front panel, the Home button being removed by the Apple company because there is no longer any position where it can be added.
The iPhone X has a glass case as well, the phone basically consists of two pieces of glass glued together with an aluminum case. The design of the iPhone X is exceptional, especially since Jony Ive wanted for some time to create a model that looks very good and attracts, and with the iPhone X he seems to have fully succeeded in everything he set out to do to do.
The Super Retina Display in iPhone X offers the highest contrast for images, the highest resolution in an iPhone, is the thinnest, has the highest brightness and reproduces the largest range of colors.
iPhone X has a Super Retina Display with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, 1 million:1 contrast ratio, a new 3D Touch and, of course, True Tone. The True Tone function changes the brightness of the screen depending on the ambient environment in which we find them, as with the iPad Pro.
The iPhone X will be sold by Apple only in spage gray and silver colors, but with a black front panel.
Water and dust resistant
The iPhone X will be resistant to water and dust, just like the iPhone 8, the Apple company taking care to allow such use even under water without problems.
Frontal 3D camera and dual vertical camera
iPhone X has a 3D front camera with a variety of sensors implemented in the front panel, the upper cutout of the screen hiding it completely. The iPhone X also has a new vertical dual camera, where Apple has included two 12 megapixel sensors that will take much better quality pictures and videos, something that will surely attract the attention of a large number of customers.
Face ID – the most advanced facial recognition system
iPhone X has Face ID, the most advanced facial recognition system that could ever be implemented in a smartphone. We are talking about a frontal 3D camera based on which Face ID works, the system creating a deep 3D image of the user's face to enable facial recognition and control a variety of functions, or unlock other important ones.
iPhone X for Face ID uses an infrared sensor, one for ambient light, a dot projector and a flood illuminator. Apple calls this system for iPhone X as TrueDepth, it offers the most accurate recognition of the user's face of all phones on the market.
Face ID in iPhone X scans 30.000 points of the face using infrared to detect patterns based on which it unlocks the phones.
iPhone X also has a neural engine in the A11 Bionic chip, which uses artificial intelligence to do facial recognition and create 3D depth maps of our faces.
iPhone X does real-time processing for our face to recognize it, and all data is saved in an enclave that is impossible to crack.
To use Face ID from the iPhone X, it is necessary to actually look at the phone, the location where the eyes are looking being analyzed by the phone to prevent unlocking if we are not looking at the front 3D camera.
Face ID for iPhone X is 20 times more secure than Touch ID, and that's because facial recognition is done using several reference points.
The Function Bar and a new Multitasking
iPhone X will have a function bar at the bottom of the screen which, when accessed, allows controlling applications. It will be very thin and displayed below the normal options in the applications, so it will not take up much space on the screen.
iPhone X has a redesigned multitasking system for the new screen, which is activated with a gesture made in the lower part, to be easier to access.
Multifunctional side button
The iPhone X has a multifunctional side button, which no longer allows the screen to be locked and closed, but the use of other functions.
More precisely, accessing Siri is done using this side button of the iPhone X, but Apple Pay will also have a special gesture that allows accessing its functions.
Animoji
iPhone X will have animjoi available, that is, we will be able to make animated emoji based on our faces and facial expressions, the Apple company wanting to allow us to play with our phones.
The iPhone X will have a series of predefined emojis available, and based on the monitoring of the face's movements, we will be able to animate those emoji characters to be able to send them to friends.
Apple collaborated with Snapchat to create these special emoji characters, they also allow recording audio messages.
New rooms not very great
The iPhone X will have a dual vertical camera consisting of two megapixel sensors, one standard with f/1.8 aperture and one telephoto with f/2.8 aperture. Basically, we are talking about the same cameras as in the iPhone 8.
The iPhone X has optical stabilization for each of the two new image sensors, plus improvements for taking pictures in low light conditions, although the aperture does not change.
iPhone X has quad-LED true tone flash, which offers a uniformity of light 2 times better than in the case of other mobile phones.
iPhone X also benefits from the Portrait Lighting function, but for the first time we also have the possibility to take selfies using the Portrait function of the iPhone.
Extremely high performance A11 BIonic chip
iPhone X will also have an A11 Bionic chip like the iPhone 8, which also has 6 cores, 2 for simple tasks and 4 for complex ones.
The new A11 bionic chip in iPhone X offers up to 70% better performance than the iPhone 7, with a graphics card that offers over 50% better performance.
Battery life
iPhone X will offer an autonomy of up to 2 hours better than that of iPhone 7, the Apple company avoiding to say what capacity the battery itself has.
Wireless charging and AirPower
The iPhone X, like the iPhone 8, will have a wireless charging system compatible with the Qi standard, so it will be able to be used with any kind of stand that exists now on the market.
The iPhone X will also have a special charging stand, called AirPower, made by the Apple company, which will also charge the iPhone 8 or the Apple Watch 3, using an intelligent device connection system.
Price and Release
iPhone X will be sold in versions with 64 GB and 256 GB by the Apple company at prices starting from 999 dollars or 1100 euros in Europe.
iPhone X will be available for pre-order on October 27th from Apple, with the launch to take place on November 3rd!
