iPhone X – The Component That Delays Production

The iPhone X has delayed production due to a complex component that offers advanced functionality for Face ID, but it will register large pre-orders.

iPhone X will have colossal pre-orders in October, with Asian analysts expecting that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to be attacked by customers eager to buy the new phone this fall. According to the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone X would record pre-orders of 50 million units at the Apple company in all countries where it will be available from October 27.

The iPhone X would break all pre-order records for any mobile phone model ever released, and Apple would have problems until the spring to cover the demand for the phone. It would take at least 6 months for Apple to cover the demand for iPhone X, according to the Asian analyst, and theoretically in the spring all models should be delivered immediately after purchase.

iPhone X with 50 million units in pre-order seems to be a very high number, considering the huge selling price of the phone, but we are not talking about something hard to believe. If the figure is true, then Apple should collect at least 50 billion dollars from the sale of the initial stock of the iPhone X, or about a quarter of what it generated in cash in the whole year 2016.

iPhone X - colossal pre-orders in October

iPhone X will have record pre-orders, but Apple has very big problems with production due to the new TrueDepth camera, which is manufactured in very limited quantities. Producing the TruDepth camera is more difficult because it contains more sensors than in the case of the old iPhone models, and its assembly in the iPhone X is at least as difficult, Foxconn having very big problems covering Apple.

iPhone X has not even entered mass production yet because Apple does not have all the necessary components, asking some partners to temporarily stop production. Apple is waiting to see how successful they are iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus before starting production on an industrial scale of iPhone X, but it won't be able to cover the demand that customers will generate, and that will bring queues in front of stores that we didn't see on Friday.

"TrueDepth camera may be main production bottleneck of iPhone X ramp. The 3D sensing (TrueDepth camera) on iPhone X is composed of a structured-light system, time-of-flight system and a front-facing camera, which represents a far more complex structure than those of rivals. It will therefore be harder to achieve mass production. While we project iPhone X will see output ramp up meaningfully in mid/late October, tight supply may only start to ease in 1H18F due to strong demand."

The iPhone X will generate very high sales for Apple, but it will not be able to cover the losses generated by the drop in sales of the iPhone 8, and this is because people are not interested in the phone. If Apple had enough units of the iPhone X to cover the demand in the market, then it would have generated much more money than it has lost now with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus, but it will recover everything in 2018 when it solves the production problems .

  1. It seems that everything is actually a well-laid plan by Apple... and from what is rumored, the plan will bear fruit far beyond expectations. Well, American analysts don't even know how to distinguish between iPhone models, they just read and propagate in the media some information that is provided and imposed on them from above, the rest is can can.

  2. It's a difference, if you buy it for €1100 or $1100, big difference, well, if I could find it for $7 - my 256GB one costs a lot more than the $64 iphone x, I'd buy it like that too, think it's 39 mil, that's how much a 7 de 128 costs, lol
