iPhone X – Face ID, Setting and Use in Applications

iPhone X has presented the methods of setting and using Face ID in applications, the system being detailed for all customers before the launch.

iPhone X has the functionality presented today Face ID for the setting in the initial process of starting the phone, but also the use in the applications that we will secure with the biometric security system. Everything is possible thanks to some videos that show the functionality of the iPhone X in iOS 11.1 beta 1, these being included by the Apple company to explain how we will be able to use its new phone.

iPhone X will have a special menu for setting Face ID when we turn on the phone and make all the settings, and in the video below you can see how it looks. Basically, the iPhone X will ask us to turn our head in front of the TrueDepth camera so that our face is recorded from all angles and is easier to recognize by the system when we want to unlock the screen for use.

The iPhone X has exactly the same setting system, including in the configuration application of the iOS 11 operating system settings, where there are basically the same options that we have for Touch ID. For now, Face ID will allow you to register only one face to do facial recognition in order to unlock the phones, but those from Apple say that in the future we could register more faces.

iPhone X – Face ID, setting and use in applications

iPhone X will ask users to allow apps to use the facial recognition system to secure the data available in them. In the video clip below you can see a demonstration of how we will be asked for permission to authorize Face ID from iPhone X to secure data from applications using our face, the alert being similar to any request for permission for something.

The iPhone X will not allow applications that do not already have access to Touch ID to use it, at least in theory, although it is possible that Apple will reset the permissions after installing a backup. It would be normal to be asked again for permission to use Face ID from the iPhone X considering that we are talking about a new biometric security system, but it remains to be seen what Apple will decide to do for us.

iPhone X will have Face ID data saved in an enclave by the Apple company, they cannot be accessed by hackers, even if we jailbreak our phones. Apple assures us that all the information in Face ID will be safe and kept away from anyone who would like to use it in a malicious way, so you will be able to use the system on iPhone X without fearing anything.
