The iPhone is very popular among young people

The iPhone is very popular among young Americans, the phone together with the Apple Watch being at the top of the possession and purchase intention for the future.

iPhone is very popular among young people, according to a new study that shows us that Apple has not lost its ability to attract new young people to its products. 78% of young Americans own an iPhone, compared to 76% at the beginning of this year and 74% in the same period last year, the increase showing the fact that the new phone models are attractive to young people, as it happened with the rest.

The iPhone remains very popular also in terms of purchase intention among young people, 82% of those in the US stating that they want to buy an Apple phone as a future smartphone. This is the highest percentage ever recorded in studies of this kind for any phone, and compared to the previous figure for the iPhone, we are talking about an increase of one percentage point, which is not small.

The iPhone is still very popular among young people

iPhone is much more popular than Apple Watch among young people, the smart watch being owned by only 12% of the young people who participated in this study. Regarding the purchase intention for the Apple Watch, we are talking about a percentage of only 17% among young people, both percentages being on the rise compared to 10% and 13%, respectively, the increases being large from a percentage point of view for Apple.

The iPhone was the most popular mobile phone among young people in the third year after its launch, and its popularity has remained at a high level over time. This is a sign that Apple understands young people and knows how to make its products interesting among them, the iPhone being the most important product, but the Apple Watch is starting to grow in popularity and will attract new young people, although it will not reach the iPhone in sales.

"82% of teens expect their next phone to be an iPhone, which is up from 81% in spring 2017, and more importantly, the highest we have ever seen in our survey."
