Samsung wants to copy a new product of the Apple company, which has not yet been launched on the global markets, it was only presented together with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X more than a month ago. I'm talking about the new charging stand AirPower, the Apple company presenting it as an alternative for those who want to charge multiple products simultaneously, i.e. an iPhone, an Apple Watch and the AirPods case.
Samsung wants to create something similar that is able to simultaneously charge a smartphone and a smartwatch, a patent registered to the Koreans revealing the intentions regarding the product. Basically, Samsung wants to copy the idea of AirPower in its own product, but of course it also needs the other functions that Apple has prepared for its extremely interesting wireless charging pad.
The product of the Koreans would be able to offer charging by induction, or magnetic resonance, all products that are compatible with the Qi standard and will work with it. There are no other details apart from what can be seen in the image below, the Samsung company only wanting not to fall behind those in Cupertino, so it will definitely try to develop its charging pad until 2018.
"The power transmitting unit may include two induction coils in the magnetic induction method and a resonance coil in the magnetic resonance method. The first and second induction coils are intended to wirelessly supply power to the electronic device to be charged by the magnetic induction method, and the resonance coil is intended to wirelessly supply power to the electronic device to be charged by the magnetic resonance method."
We already know that in South Korea there is little intention to truly innovate and that those from Cupertino are always copied, so we should not be surprised when this happens. It won't be a different situation with AirPower either, so in the first part of 2018 I think we will see this device officially announced, and then everyone will see again what it means to be unable to create something.
