Apple would have bought a company that produces cameras

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), would have bought a company called InVisage, which specializes in the development of image sensors for cameras used in a variety of electronic products. Those from Apple would have bought the company in the middle of this year, the information coming from sources who would have participated in the initialing of the sale to those from Cupertino.

InVisage was withdrawn from the investment funds it belonged to, those from Nokia and those from InterWest investing in the company to help it develop. More than that, the company also eliminated the page where it lists the employees it has, as it happens in the case of most companies that Apple buys.

At least 6 of the company's employees now work at Apple, so it is quite clear that in Cupertino at some point the decision was made to buy this company. InVisage was founded in the USA and develops a new architecture for image sensors using a QuantumFilm layer that allowed a greater amount of light to be taken into a smartphone's camera.

QuatumFilm increases by up to 3 times the dynamic range of pictures taken using an InVisage image sensor, allowing pictures to be recorded in almost any kind of lighting conditions. Considering this extremely beneficial technology for mobile terminal cameras, it is expected that Apple will implement it in its products at some point.

How long it could take until this happens, no one knows, but if Apple bought the company, it will surely use its technologies in future products.
