iPhone 8 keeps Apple over Samsung in sales

iPhone 8 managed to keep Apple over Samsung in terms of sales, the phone seems to be more popular than many people imagine.

iPhone 8 holds Apple over Samsung in smartphone sales in China, the new phone managing to help Americans enjoy a surprising increase after 18 months of steady declines. iPhone sales in China increased by 40% in a single year thanks to the iPhone 8, and this is a spectacular change for those from Cupertino after such a long period of declining sales.

iPhone 8 manages to keep Apple ahead of Samsung in smartphone sales in China and offers a better position in relation to local manufacturers. Smartphone sales in China fell by 5% in the last fiscal quarter, but Apple enjoyed the fact that the iPhone 8 managed to convince more Chinese to spend money on its products, while Samsung remains outside the TOP 5 smartphone manufacturers.

iPhone 8 helped Apple reach sales of 11 million phones in China in Q3 2017, 3 million more than in the same period last year in the world's largest market. The iPhone 8 didn't give Apple the biggest jump in sales among all Chinese smartphone manufacturers, but it is among those whose sales have increased, with Oppo recording a decline.

iPhone 8 does not has helped Apple to catch up with Xiaomi, whose sales also increased with a value approximately equal to that recorded by Apple. Huawei remains at the forefront of smartphone sellers in China, the company succeeding in this fiscal quarter to surpass Oppo, after it had done it anyway in the previous one, and the iPhone 8 still has a lot to recover in this segment.

The iPhone 8 recorded better sales than the iPhone 7 in China compared to Q3 2016, so the Chinese look with better eyes on the new phone compared to the rest of the planet. The Chinese also bought iPhone X in quite large numbers during the past week, but it is expected that the good sales of the iPhone 8 will not continue in the fourth fiscal quarter, after the iPhone X will be officially launched.

iPhone 8 was not as successful in other markets where it was launched, China being an exception for Apple in many ways. The good part for Apple is that the iPhone 8 is in the attention of the Chinese and it shows that there are customers who will buy it even in large enough quantities, but it is likely that the iPhone X will draw attention away from it and the world will focus mainly on the model new.
