iOS 11.1.2 Jailbreak could be Released thanks to Google

iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak would be released thanks to Google, iPhone and iPad will have a complete jailbreak experience for users.

I told you the other day that a 11.1.2 iOS jailbreak could be released soon, a cyber security researcher announcing that he will disclose at least one exploit that allows control of iOS. We are talking about an exploit discovered by a team of Google engineers working within Project Zero, a project designed to discover vulnerabilities in operating systems and programs.

This exploit is usable in iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2 and was closed in iOS 11.2, but that does not mean that a jailbreak solution for iOS 11.1.2 will not appear at some point in the near future. It is not known how complex this exploit is, but it allows controlling the iOS kernel, so theoretically it allows modifying the entire operating system, as a jailbreak solution does.

It seems, however, that the jailbreak solution would be a tethered one, which means that the process might need to be restarted after each restart of the iPhone and iPad, but this is only for certain phone models. It would seem that iDevices up to the iPhone 6S could have an untethered jailbreak solution, while newer models could have a tethered one, or could not have a jailbreak solution at all.

The computer security researcher who worked on the discovery of this exploit has for now only announced that he will publish it together with explanations for its use in iOS. From here to the possible release of a jailbreak solution for iOS 11 - iOS 11.1.2 is a long way, but at least we have hope for something like this again.
