iPhone. Apple Takes a BIG Step Backward with a Greed Mistake

In 2018, Apple will take a big step back because of its greed, a major mistake that will bring us a bad experience using phones.

iPhone it is the company's most profitable product Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, and in order to keep its profitability at a high level, the American company will make, from my point of view, a huge mistake in 2018. More specifically, Apple wants to completely abandon Qualcomm's GSM modems starting with the iPhone XS, so from 2018, going to use only GSM modems from Intel and MediaTek for next year's phones.

This is not the first time we learn information about these plans of the Apple company, a few weeks ago a similar rumor appeared about its greed-based intentions. Apple takes this decision because of the processes in which it is involved with Qualcomm, accusing the company of forcing it to buy licenses for products it did not need, so it was losing money.

MediaTek has the ability to replace Qualcomm in Apple's distribution chain and has lower prices than the American company, but the performance of its modems is not as good. This is also the big problem for Apple, and last night I showed you how iPhone with Intel modem has poor GSM performance compared to phones that have a Qualcomm modem, so in the end we suffer.

"Taiwan IC designer MediaTek has a chance of winning orders for baseband modem chipsets from Apple, which is seeking additional modem chip capacity support after transferring half of its orders to Intel from Qualcomm with which the company is involved in a patent lawsuit. Apple's switching 50% of its orders for iPhone modem chipsets to Intel from Qualcomm is part of its self-protection efforts made after filing a lawsuit in January 2017 against Qualcomm's allegedly unfair patent royalty calculation formula."

For Apple, this matters less, its main objective being to make a profit, so the partnership with MediaTek would be extended to other types of products starting next year. Unfortunately for us, iPhones are starting to turn into phones designed to make the most profit, not to offer the best performance and the best experience, and iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X (which have too little RAM ) are a clear proof of this.

What do you think about Apple's plans to put more emphasis on profit than on customer experience?
