AppStore vs Google Play - Sales in the whole year 2017

AppStore and Google Play had an extremely interesting evolution in sales during 2017, applications and games being extremely sought after.

2017 was a great year for apps, with sales reaching $58.6 billion in the top two app stores, AppStore si Google Play. The figure is huge, and more than 35% higher than the one recorded during 2016, a sign that the users' interest in applications has grown seriously in 2017.

The AppStore still remains the largest app store on the planet, with almost double the revenue of Google Play, generating $38.5 billion in 2017. Google Play generated $20.1 billion in revenue in 2017, the difference being huge, despite the fact that there are more Android users than iOS.

Both AppStore and Google Play had the same increase in sales in 2017 compared to 206, i.e. 34.x%, so people bought more on both platforms. The good part for Apple is that it remains at a huge distance from Google in generating revenue from applications, and this will keep users interested in its platform.

Google Play has never surpassed the AppStore in app sales, and it will never do so, and that's because iOS users spend more on apps than Android users. This situation has existed for years and years, it won't change soon, and Apple seriously earns from its customers "with a helping hand".
