Vodafone announced today that it is the network with the fastest 4G mobile internet in Romania at the beginning of 2018, the statement based on statistics taken from the well-known Speedtest.net website. We are talking about 1.15 million tests carried out by Romanians using this website during 2017, revealing the fact that Vodafone has the fastest mobile internet in our country, something that is not happening for the first time.
Vodafone offers 55.87 Mbps for download and 22.16 Mbps for upload, these being the average speeds resulting from tests done by customers, they being superior to those offered by Orange. The difference compared to Orange's 4G mobile internet is 12% for download and 7% for upload, so too small for any user to notice, but Orange remains behind Vodafone's even in 2017, after they were in this position in 2016.
Vodafone has made serious investments in the 4G and 4.5G network, and they are starting to show when it comes to the tests done by customers in Romania through the most used platform for measuring internet speeds. Those from Orange boasted the first position in statistics of this kind based on tests done by Romanians through Netograf, but this platform has far fewer tests done, so its results are completely useless.
Those from Vodafone also made a top of the speeds offered by the competition, Telekom offering a little over half of what Vodafone offers, while Digi Mobil has the extremely bad results that everyone knows. In fact, because of Digi Mobil, Romania most likely fell to the 42nd place in the list of countries with the fastest mobile internet, but I will talk about that in a separate article.

Bucharest, February 5, 2018 – Vodafone Romania is the fastest 4G generation mobile network in the country, according to tests carried out by users in Romania on 4G, 4G+ and 4.5G (LTE) connections in 2017 using Speedtest® by Ookla®, the world's most popular internet speed test and analysis app. The results of over 1,15 million tests carried out by users of mobile communications in Romania during the period January-December 2017 shows that the 4G (LTE) generation network of Vodafone Romania offers the highest average speeds of downloading and uploading mobile data, as well as the least delay average (latency) in the transmission of mobile data.

The data collected by Ookla Speedtest Intelligence through tests carried out by users using the Speedtest application to check the performance of 4G generation (LTE) connections between January and December 2017 show that Vodafone Romania has the best results, with an average speed value of at least 12% higher for data upload (upload) and almost 7% higher for data download (download) compared to any other mobile data operator in the country.
Recently, the Vodafone Romania network, 4.5G supernet, was certified as right the best performing mobile network in Romania for the fourth consecutive year, achieving the highest overall score for quality and the performance of its voice and mobile data services, following the testing of all mobile networks in Romania by the independent auditor P3 communications, in November and December 2017. At the same time, the operator obtained highest score for mobile data services and offers the best browsing experience on the internet and YouTube usage compared to other operators."
