WhatsApp has two new features starting today for users worldwide, with the company behind the app officially implementing them after several months of beta testing. We are talking about two new functions that are available for iPhone users at the moment, an update for the application available in the AppStore being offered by the WhatsApp company just last night.

In the first function, WhatsApp offers the possibility to switch very quickly between voice and video calls when we are having conversations with the people who are part of our friends list. According to WhatsApp, to quickly switch between a video call and a voice call, it is enough to press the video button during a call, and the application will know that it must immediately switch between these two ways of interacting with friends.

"You can now easily switch between voice and video calls. Just tap the video button while you're on a call."

WhatsApp also has a new button available starting today @ in the interface where we have group conversations with our friends, he being dedicated to the mentions made for us in the respective discussions. According to the WhatsApp company, pressing this button will display in the chat interface any kind of messages in which we were mentioned by our friends, so we will be able to discover very quickly any kind of messages that we did not have the opportunity to read.

"You'll now see the '@' button in group chats. Tap on it to quickly scroll to unread messages where you were replied to or mentioned."

WhatsApp tested these functions for several months before offering them to iPhone users around the world, and I told you this through some of the articles I published here over time. Considering that the functions are implemented directly in the WhatsApp application through this update, immediately after its installation, you should see them available when you make voice/video calls, or when you participate in group conversations.
