AppStore si Google Play they had an extremely good Q1 2018 with record downloads and revenues compared to the same period last year, both stores registering increases. The AppStore still remains the application store that registers the highest revenues, the difference being almost double that of Google's Google Play, as you can see below.
In Q1 2018, the AppStore generated revenues of almost 12 billion dollars for the Apple company, while Google Play reached almost 6 billion dollars, a very big difference for application stores. For years and years it has been well known that the AppStore generates more money for application developers, and in Q1 2018 things do not seem to change in any way.
AppStore dominates Google Play in Q1 2018 as well
The AppStore does not have the same success in terms of application downloads, the Apple store recording 8.2 billion downloads, compared to 19.2 as recorded by Google Play. We are talking about a 135% difference in the number of downloads between the app stores of Apple and Google, and it continues to grow from one year to the next.
iPhone and iPad users have much more money to spend on applications compared to those who own Android terminals, and advertisements also generate more money for developers. Google won't be able to change this anytime soon, and it won't be able to attract more people with money since the vast majority of Android phones sold worldwide are very cheap.
