Facebook launched, after years and years of requests, a dislike button for users around the world, the American company allowing users to use it in a similar way offered by Reddit for rating and disapproving comments. You can see in the images below that Facebook has implemented this button only for comments at the moment, and it is not known if there will be something similar offered for posts.
Facebook started testing this rating system for comments in the US not too long ago, but now it has started to expand its availability to more users around the world. Basically, separate from the Like button that exists for comments, Facebook users will be able to use two other buttons to show their appreciation or disapproval of the comments published on the social network.
Facebook has LAUNCHED the DISLIKE button for Users
Facebook didn't make things very simple and very easy to understand, and that's because not everyone uses Reddit and not everyone knows what the role of those buttons is in relation to the one for likes, which hasn't been removed yet. However, Facebook wants to prioritize the useful and decent comments left by people on posts, so using this new system it will display the appreciated comments first, and the ones without much appreciation last.
Facebook tries through this system to bring a little order among the comments left by people on the posts, but of course many will abuse the system to manipulate the comments and display with priority only what they want. Facebook does not provide tools for those who publish posts, so they have no way to defend themselves against those who want to manipulate the comments left on the posts, so it remains to be seen how appreciated it will be.
Facebook is most likely doing a test now to see how successful a similar post button could be in the future.
