Google HUGE Change News 2018

Google is preparing a major change for the News service during 2018, the American company wanting to offer a new experience for those who want to find out the most important news every day. Google is going to offer for News a series of new elements existing in the Newsstand application, but it seems that YouTube will also play an important role here, with video clips being displayed much more prominently within the news service.

Google intends to present the new design for News at next week's I/O conference, the company already talking with some publishers about the big changes that News is going to offer. Google has multiple services that allow people to discover the latest and most important news from around the world, and now the company is trying to gather them all under one brand, where everything is much easier to discover, for everyone.

Google is going to combine Newsstand and YouTube in the News service, the first platform to be closed to make way for a service that offers news from both platforms for users from all over the world. Google also intends to make massive use of the AMP platform to allow users to access the news they are interested in much more quickly, the company at the same time wanting to help publishers make even more money with their content.

"There are a lot of Google services where you find news, and what they're trying to do is bring it all under one brand. We really recognize the transition to digital for publishers has not been easy. The economics are pretty clear: If publishers aren't successful, we can't be successful."

Google wants to help people discover important news much more easily, but it is hard to say to what extent it will manage to display the same amount of news in a single space, with less space to display all the content. However, Google knows that the News service is very popular for users around the world, so I'm sure it will make a very good change, and the inclusion of AMP will make accessing the news much faster for everyone.
